• Reports to: MERL Data and Learning Manager
• Supervises: Temporary enumerators, when engaged
• JOB SUMMARY
• Independently verifies results reported by GPMs and partners, particularly job placements and dignified working conditions.
• Conducts field visits and phone verifications to ensure the program’s job-creation figures are credible to the Foundation and auditors.
• ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Verify reported job placements through phone call-backs, field visits, and platform records using samples selected by the Data Analyst.
• Check dignified-work criteria, including earnings, work regularity, and working conditions.
• Verify milestone evidence submitted by GPMs before grant tranche releases.
• Conduct monitoring visits to GPMs, training sites, and regional activities using standard checklists.
• Recruit, train, and supervise temporary enumerators when needed.
• Document discrepancies and follow them through to resolution with the GPM Portfolio team.
• Report safeguarding concerns identified in the field through the program’s established reporting channels.

Required qualifications

• EDUCATION AND TRAINING
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• EXPERIENCE
• At least 4 years of experience in field monitoring, survey work, or data verification for donor-funded programs.
• SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Skills in field data collection and interviewing. • Proficiency in mobile data collection tools. • Objectivity, accuracy, and integrity. • Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of a regional language is an advantage.
• Experience Level: Mid-Level (minimum 4 years of relevant experience).
