• JOB PURPOSE & SUMMARY:
• Provide strategic financial leadership, maintain accurate financial records, oversee financial reporting, manage cash flows, coordinate budgeting processes, and ensure full compliance with Ethiopian financial, tax, and accounting regulations.
• Serve as a key advisor to executive management on investments, risk management, and resource allocation while leading and developing the department staff.
• KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Financial Leadership & Policy: Lead and manage overall Finance Department operations; develop and implement financial management policies, internal control systems, and management information tools.
• Budgeting & Performance Management: Prepare, coordinate, and monitor annual budgets; produce regular budget-vs-actual performance reports, evaluate project profitability, and advise leadership on cost-effectiveness.
• Reporting & Operational Finance: Ensure accurate and timely financial statements; oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
• Tax & Compliance: Coordinate tax declarations, payments, and statutory obligations while strictly complying with Ethiopian tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
• Audit & Risk Management: Oversee fixed asset accounting, inventory valuation, and external/internal audits; implement audit recommendations and track liabilities, loans, and financial commitments.
• Staff Leadership & Support: Lead, coach, and evaluate finance staff, and provide financial guidance to department heads and project managers.
